      Check out this 2020!

This vehicle shines in its off-road ability while forging a new path toward value, efficiency and flexibility! The engine breathes better thanks to a turbocharger, improving both performance and economy. Subaru prioritized practicality, efficiency, and style by including: automatic dimming door mirrors, a roof rack, and power front seats. Smooth gearshifts are achieved thanks to the efficient 4 cylinder engine, and for added security, dynamic Stability Control supplements the drivetrain.

        Great up to a point

        by Adam C on 3/24/2026 1:28:49 PM

We have a 2020 Ascent Limited. We like its features. Ride is a bit bumpy (my wife's term) and there can be more than a little road noise - but less than in the Outback we used to own. Engine is strong. Don't believe those who say the accelerator is "touchy". Mileage is good at 23 - 24. The only major issue was with the CVT at 125,000 miles. Dealer wanted $5000 to replace the torque converters. I contacted Subaru and they covered the full repair out of warranty. Bullet dodged. My advice is to trade it under 100,000 miles.…

        The Great Ascent

by Dorrellkc on 1/30/2026 3:00:46 AM

If your looking for a big Forester then the Ascent is it. Gas mileage is more smiles per gallon vs anything reasonable. The third row comes in handy when needed, but don't expect to put full size adults in the third row for more than a couple of hours. The third row should be reserved for the kids. The radio is ok but it does lag from the initial startup of the car to pressing buttons which is a bit annoying and I wish that I could update the software to the new software that is in the 26 Outback. Even with all of that said, the Ascent fits our needs and we are happy with the AWD system and the overall handling. The Ascent is a joy to drive and has been very capable when needed. Keep up with the maintenance schedule and drive it like a normal human and the vehicle will treat you well.…
